The 1964 Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu SS is a classic American muscle car with beautiful clean lines which looks good from all angles. This particular car stands out with its red paint accented by a silver side exterior wrap, contrasted by black interior. The silver wrap is removable to go back to a single body color if the two-tone is not your style. The exterior paint and bright work shows well making this excellent as a driver or the weekend cars and coffee. 235/60R15 Hercules H/P 4000 tires are mounted on a set of factory style rally steel wheels with chrome finishing rings and 3 bar spinner knockoff center caps.

The car is equipped with a 700-R4 second-generation automatic transmission which shifts properly through the gears. The front of the engine is dressed up with billet engine brackets and a more modern higher output alternator. Keeping the engine cool is crucial, and this Chevelle is fitted with a Griffin aluminum radiator paired with electric fans, ensuring optimal cooling even during hot summer drives or performance runs.

This Malibu SS is engaging to drive but pleasurable due to the more modern features. The power steering feels nice with plenty of assist and responsive. Under the hood you can see the brake system was redone during the restoration from the power booster, master cylinder, proportion valve, brakes lines, and front disc brakes. I couldn’t imagine driving one of these old Malibus with front drum brakes and now you don’t have to! The suspension was also refreshed during the restoration.

Inside, the cabin retains its period-correct look with black carpets, upholstery, and trim. The red on black is a proper combination. AC has been added to the car so you can cruise in comfort. The updated radio plays through Rockford Fosgate speakers so you can also hear the tunes.
