This 1995 Land Rover Defender 90, a rare North American Specification (NAS) example, has been with the same family since 2000 and is one of approximately 1,700 units imported into the US for that model year. Only 1190 soft tops were produced for 1995. Powered by a 3.9-liter V8 engine paired with a five-speed manual transmission and a dual-range transfer case, this Defender is finished in striking AA Yellow with Charcoal cloth and vinyl upholstery. The exterior features AA Yellow paint with black extended wheel-arch flares, a Rock Ware front bumper, and Safari Gard rock sliders. It is equipped with a Superwinch X9 winch with synthetic rope, LED auxiliary lighting including LED-converted Hella Euro-style H4 headlamps, a 15-ton pintle hitch, and a reinforced rear tire carrier. The vehicle also comes with a new black soft top, along with a Bestop Surrey top, and Badger Coachworks tonneau and bikini tops.
The Defender rides on Safari Gard 15″ steel wheels with 35×12.5″ Dick Cepek Extreme Country tires, and a matching spare tire is mounted on a swing-out carrier. Braking is provided by power-assisted discs at all four corners, complemented by Safari Gard stainless-steel braided brake lines. The suspension system includes a 5” lift kit with RTE Welding and Fabrication coil springs and remote reservoir Fox Shocks (12″ front, 14″ rear), RTE articulation cones, check straps, adjusted radius arms, control-arm extensions, and an extended adjustable Panhard bar. Recent suspension work alone was over $10,0000. The vehicle also features aftermarket extended rear shock mounts, polyurethane bushings, and steering linkage.
