Shown here is a Defender 90 Hard Top Station Wagon with original paint and plenty of proper upgrades. The Defender was sourced out Bompas, France from a Monsieur Bruno. We could easily recognize upon inspection this Defender lived its life in the dry French southern climate of Pyrénées-Orientales. Originally sold new on March 29, 1996 in France. This Defender has stayed well preserved over the years due to the dry southern French climate on the same latitude as Spain, Portugal, and Italy. There is a lengthy list of upgrades for a proper stance and prowess off or on road. This 1996 Land Rover Defender 90 300TDI is shown in the factory original paint, LRC456 Alpine White with black interior upholstery. The exterior contrast of black chequere plate and white grills gives this Defender a unique and attractive look. A new set of 235/85R16 Yokohama Mud tires wrap around a factory Land Rover OEM 5-spoke 16" Alloy Wheels. The 300TDI diesel engine runs properly, and 5-Speed manual transmission shifts correctly through the gears. We have put approximately 300 miles on this Defender and it's a pleasure to drive even down the Interstate. The turbo spools nicely with plenty of power for going over the road. An aftermarket Pioneer head unit (with Bluetooth) keeps the tunes jamming while you cruise through Focal component speakers and a Quantum self-powered subwoofer. Original owner’s manuals and service receipts included with the sale. Please contact us to review the history file including the French technical inspection. Previous maintenance shows regularly serviced timing belt, a gearbox rebuild, suspension upgrades, and replacement of marker lamps with LED.
No other 4x4 vehicle has the pedigree and a track record like Land Rover. Not only was it one of the first, it remains the world’s pre-eminent on and off-road vehicle, exhilarating to drive, highly reliable, and easy to maintain. The Defender 90 features the high performance 300TDI 2.5L Turbo Diesel mated to the bulletproof 5 Speed Manual R380 Transmission. Direct injection technology coupled with a turbocharger gives improved diesel economy with even greater power, torque, longevity, and reliability. It provides high performance on-road with the capability to tackle the worst off-road conditions, in nearly every driving environment in the world.
