We are constantly scouring the earth for clean and classic Toyota Land Cruisers. Finding a proper turbo diesel 60 Series takes an act of Congress. HJ61 GX Euro Spec Land Cruisers are one our favorite spec Land Cruisers due to their combination of aesthetics and power. This Land Cruiser features a 3982 cc inline 6, 12 valve OHV turbocharged direct injection diesel engine with plenty of grunt. The 12H-T engines were used in Toyota’s commercial applications due to its reliability and plentiful torque. This Land Cruiser had the engine stripped down to the block and fully resealed then an upgraded Kinugawa turbo and DEA 3” turbo back exhaust. The 12H-T now breathes easier with more power. We kept the boost down but the next owner has the parts in place to up the boost for an increase in power.

This Left-Hand Drive 1990 model features a 5 speed manual transmission and two speed transfer case with Aisin manual front locking hubs. The previous owner kept this Land Cruiser in great condition featuring mostly original Gray Metallic paint (Toyota code 155) and full original graphics. We love the color combination and style of the retro 80’s contrasting original graphics. Body shows very well and is not subjected to the rust found in most of the 60 Series. The frame and undercarriage present extremely well with new springs, shocks, and bushings. The interior is all original with the exception of the tailgate panel and front seat bottom cushions. We did not want to reupholster the seats and ruin the beautiful factory upholstery. Mechanically sound and runs exceptionally with lots of extensive recent maintenance. The HJ61 is ready for the next owner to get this Cruiser out on the open road and wilderness. The lift kit easily clears the 33x12.50x15 BFG All Terrain Tires mounted on a set of BWA Todoterreno 14 Spoke Wheels (7x15 Offset -20).

We completed an extensive amount of maintenance on this Land Cruiser while in our possession. The engine was completely stripped down to the block and cylinder head with all gaskets being replaced. Parts during the work included replacing the turbo and exhaust due to wear, Full Gasket Kit 12H-T (04111-68030), 12 x manifold studs (90116-08131), 1 x Gasket Oil Cooler Cover (Water Inlet Housing No. 1 16325-68020), 1 x Gasket Oil Filter Housing (15691-68020), 2x Gasket Oil Cooler (90923-05013), 2 x O-Ring Oil Cooler (90301-21176), Water Pump Gasket (16271-68020), Water Pump, Fuel Filter, Thermostat, Terrain Tamer Heater Hose Kit, Terrain Tamer Radiator Hose Kit, Gryphontek Exhaust Manifold Stud Nut Kit, Injection Pump O-Ring (90301-99013), Oil Cooler Adapters for New Turbo, Diesel Line Clamps, Oil Pressure Sending Unit (83520-60020), Oil Gauge, 2 x 2” Front Lift Leaf Springs For Diesel, 2” Rear Lift Drivers Side Leaf Spring, 2” Rear Lift Near Side Leaf Spring, 2 x Front Nitro Gas Shock Absorbers, 2 x Rear Nitro Gas Shock Absorber, 436UBK - Front U-Bolt Kit, 415UBK - Rear U-Bolt Kit, 719UK - Front Polyurethane Spring Bush Kit (one set), 719UK - Rear Polyurethane Spring Bush Kit (one set), Oil Filter, and Aluminum Performance Radiator. New aftermarket parts include a full set of carpeted floormats from OC Auto Carpets, K&N Air Filter, EGT gauge, and rear Mountain Hatch Tailgate Table.
