Shown here is a Defender 90 factory-built Highlander Edition from Land Rover.  The Highlander was the top of the range limited series featuring factory options including Epsom Green Metallic paint, 16” five spoke alloy wheels, 265/75R16 tires, body-colored roof and fender flares, sunroof, tinted glass, a model specific upholstery, and model specific graphics.  Interior upholstery has been updated and the factory standard Highlander option cassette car radio (with removable face plate!) and alarm have been removed.  Land Rover dealers were selling the top of the line model in 1998 for 159,200 Francs.  We found this beautiful spec in the dry climate warm climate of Corsica.  Originally sold on March 17, 1998 and purchased by Car Cave in late 2023 from a Monsieur Landolfini.  Monsieur Landolfini provided extensive service records available for the buyer’s review.

This 1996 Land Rover Defender 90 300TDI is shown in Espsom Green Metallic (paint code 961) exterior featuring black chequere plate top and black accents. The interior is finished in Silver Grey Leather in an Diamond Stitch pattern with Dim Grey thread for the seating services and a mixture of grey and black for other interior finishes.  The rear cargo space load aera has a full Land Rover OEM rubber mat and 4 matching jump seats.  A set of 265/75R16 BF Goodrich All Terrain tires wrap around 5-Spoke 16" Land Rover OEM Alloy Wheels.

Factory built with the solid and reliable 300TDI 2.5L Turbo Diesel engine and R380 5 Speed manual transmission.  The 300TDI diesel engine runs properly and 5-Speed manual transmission shifts correctly through the gears.  We completed a mechanical review of the Defender and all systems were found to be functional. Recent maintenance and upgrades performed by Car Cave include oil pan gasket, flush clutch fluid, adjust clutch pedal, install upgraded leather seats, install upgraded center console, rear Land Rover OEM rubber cargo load space mat, replace windscreen brackets with CNC black aluminum, rear windshield washer fluid nozzle, rear sway bar end links, U-joint, thermostat, thermostat housing, thermostat gasket, thermostat housing gasket, rebuild front axle (including seals, gaskets, and bearings on both driver and passenger side), brass coolant plug upgrade, glow plug relay, valve cover gasket, coin tray, valve adjustment, and front differential gasket.

Here at Car Cave, we regularly drive our inventory and clock an average of several hundred test miles (sometimes even several thousand) on each Defender. Well sorted mechanically and has been taken care of by the previous owner.
