Shown here is a much anticipated and highly sought after Defender 90 factory-built with the TD5 engine. This Defender really moves after plenty of performance upgrades! We tracked it on GPS at over 100 mph and still wanted more. The power output is estimated at 340ft lb of torque and 220 BHP. You know from the driver’s seat this 90 is packing an extra punch. Excellent power improvement, drives tight down the road, shifts well, and has ice cold Air Conditioning installed.

The TD5 was released by Land Rover in late 1998 and now eligible for legal import to the United States. The 1999 model year update included ABS, traction control, and an electronic controlled engine management system. We found this beautiful spec just an hour drive north of our Zonhoven, Belgium location. The previous owner provided service records and used it as his weekend driver for adventures with his children. Originally sold new on November 17, 1998. The British Heritage Certificate revealed the Defender rolled off the Solihull, UK assembly line on October 21, 1998 with a destination of Land Rover Deutschland GmbH. Please note, this vehicle is a 1999 model year but titled as a 1998 due to being originally sold in 1998.

This Land Rover Defender 90 is shown in the factory original Chawton White (Paint Code LRC603) with an accented black roof. The interior is finished in the original patterned grey seats which show extremely well. The rear cargo space load aera has a full Land Rover OEM rubber mat and 4 matching jump seats. A set of 235/85R16 General Grabber tires wrap around the black 5-Spoke 16" Land Rover OEM Alloy Wheels. Inside the cabin a JVC KD-DB98BT features Bluetooth connection and mounted mid dash. An aftermarket siren (watch the video) is mounted on the dash as well as Air Conditioning.

Factory built with the highly tunable and desirable 2.5L TD5 turbo diesel engine and R380 5 Speed manual transmission. The turbo diesel engine runs properly and 5-Speed manual transmission shifts correctly through the gears. We completed a mechanical review of the Defender and all systems were found to be functional. Recent maintenance and upgrades performed by Car Cave include several performance all 3 doors were replaced, door hinges, rear door panel, rear door glass, rear door wiper, rear door wiper motor. When we replaced the doors the inside was sound deadened to quite the cabin and also give the doors a nice solid feel. The doors shut nice properly. Mechanical work performed at Car Cave included an oil pan gasket, new doors locks, airbox replacement, temperature sensor, oil pressure switch, valve cover gasket, fuel injector harness, coolant temp sensor front and rear, and coolant flush. The AC was not blowing cold when we purchased the Defender so we performed a service including full leak test. Now it blows ice cold! Here at Car Cave, we regularly drive our inventory and clock an average of several hundred test miles (sometimes even several thousand) on each Defender. Well sorted mechanically and has been taken care of by the previous owner.
