Shown here is a factory-built 1998 Land Rover Defender 110 in the most sought after configuration with the highly regarded 300Tdi engine. Car Cave sourced this Defender from Greece, and it was maintained and upgraded by our Belgium based team to use as a service vehicle for the past 5 years. Built in September 1998 in Solihull, UK, this example is among the final production 300Tdi Defenders.

The Defender was repainted in Olive Green with a black roof and matching black 16” alloy wheels when purchased by Car Cave. The doors and hinges were replaced and repainted prior to listing for sale. It rides on a set of 235/85R16 Yokohama Geolander A/T tires which is a perfect size for stock suspension, offering excellent stance and balanced performance both on and off-road. A full size matching spare is mounted on the rear upgraded aftermarket spare tire carrier.

The Defender stayed with our Car Cave Belgium team and has been used as a commercial vehicle since 2020. A great running and driving example. Pieter, our chief mechanic at CCB, installed an AMC gas flowed head from Turner Engineering, air conditioning, silicone coolant hoses, silicone boost hoses, and kept this rig running over the road. While in our team’s possession, this vehicle saw a lot of Europe including Holland, France, Luxembourg, Germany, Belgium, Italy, and now we've been happy to demonstrate it in US! It has been a reliable and faithful companion for all of our road trips. The paint presents well with the new doors but some imperfections can be found on the cappings, pillars, and black accents. We've logged tens of thousands of kilometers in this Defender over the years, and it runs smoothly, shifts well , and the turbo spools as it should.

The vehicle received a full mechanical inspection and service review when arriving here in the US. The engine work included replacement of the rocker cover side hose. A complete 300Tdi filter service was performed with oil, fuel, and air filters replaced, along with fresh 15w40 Rotella diesel oil. Steering system updates included tightening of the right front wheel bearing, replacement of the right-hand threaded tie rod end, and an alignment. Suspension work included replacing the rear A-arm ball joint (fulcrum joint) and related hardware. The driveline was serviced with a new rear driveshaft U-joint and hardware. The hinges were lubricated, a new five-barrel door lock set with two keys was installed, the passenger mirror was tightened, and the right-hand front door latch mechanism was replaced.

The Olive Green is an eye catching color. Every time the writer drove this Defender in Europe it caught major attention. The contrasting colors pair well through out the build with a perfect pairing of black roof, wheels, grille, headlamp finishers, rockers, steps, and protective plate. The interior features the original patterned cloth interior with seating for 5, carpeting throughout, rubber mats, and a matching cubby box. There are no seats in the rear cargo area but Car Cave can customize this Defender to meet your needs.
