This 2000 Land Rover Defender 90 is a prime example of the quality and capability that defines Car Cave USA’s Defender program. Finished in classic Chawton White (Land Rover Color Code LRC603) with black accents and factory alloy wheels, this seven-passenger, left-hand drive Td5 was sourced directly from the dry climate of Sicily, Italy. Originally sold new on December 22, 1999, it was recently imported by Car Cave to our Aiken, South Carolina showroom, where it has undergone a full mechanical and cosmetic review by our in-house team.

Performance and Mechanical Overview

Power is delivered by Land Rover’s desirable 2.5L Td5 inline-five turbo diesel engine, mated to the R380 5-speed manual transmission and LT230 full-time 4WD transfer case with locking center differential. Originally introduced in 1998 as part of Project Storm, the Td5 engine offers electronic injection, rugged cast iron construction, and the unmistakable sound and torque curve Defender fans love.

Recent service on this Defender included a full clutch hydraulic system overhaul (master cylinder, slave cylinder, reservoir, flex hose, and DOT 5 fluid), as well as fluid changes for the engine, transmission, differential, and transfer case. The crankcase valve and filters were replaced, and the steering system was upgraded with heavy-duty rods and professional alignment. The A-arm ball joint was replaced, and the air conditioning system was serviced and repaired to ensure consistent cabin comfort.

Interior and Exterior Details

The interior has been custom-upholstered in black leather with horizontal stitch detail. The seating layout includes a front center seat and four individual rear jump seats, accommodating seven passengers total. The cabin also features sliding rear windows, Alpine glass, a factory sunroof, in-cabin carpeting, and a new lower dash finisher.

Exterior features include freshly painted bodywork in the factory color, a replacement rear door with new hinges and hardware, front and rear light guards, front bumper with integrated hoop, Halo LED headlamps, off-road lighting, a front skid plate, and 16” factory 5-spoke alloy wheels fitted with 265/75R16 Yokohama Geolander all-terrain tires. Additional refinements include new door locks, front and rear wipers, hood buffers, bulkhead grommets, and a full exterior and interior detail.
