Shown here is a Defender 90 factory built soft top and roll cage which is a documented Eastnor Edition from Land Rover’s famed Special Vehicle Unit. SVU is responsible for building some of the best Landy’s to ever come out of Solihull including the Camel Trophy models. Factory built with the solid and reliable 300TDI 2.5L Turbo Diesel engine and R380 5 Speed manual transmission. The Defender was purchased by Car Cave in Dornes, France from a Madame Eichenberger. Records show the Eicheberger family purchased the Defender for use at their equestrian property Domaine Du Soleil on November 23, 1996. A true documented one owner Defender with original paint. The previous owner garage kept this beauty and provided recent service records. Please contact us to review these files. This 1996 Land Rover Defender 90 300TDI is shown with a AA Yellow (paint code 584) exterior featuring silver chequere plate top and black accents. The interior is finished in a combination of black and grey, all new upholstery with front seats from Exmoor Trim, and a high top center console. A set of 265/75R16 Gooryear Wrangler All-Terrain tires wrap around 5-Spoke 16" Land Rover OEM Alloy Wheels.

The 300TDI diesel engine runs properly and 5-Speed manual transmission shifts through the gears smoothly. We completed a complete review of the Defender and all systems were found to be functional. The only exception being door keys for the exterior locks. Recent maintenance and upgrades performed by Car Cave include replacing the door hinges with an upgraded black CNC set on all 3 doors, transfer case rebuilt, stainless steel bonnet hardware, bonnet hinge bushings, rear reflector, battery, power steering hoses, brake fluid flush, valve adjustment, valve cover gasket, vacuum pump gasket, fuel pump gasket, oil filter housing gasket, valve cover sealing washers, air box rubber mounts, and front transfer box output shaft seal. Car Cave installed new mats front and back, seats, coin tray (replacement for dash ashtray), lower dash finisher, new door cards (door panels), and a new center console. The front bumper, headlamp finishers, grill, front U-hoop, NAS rear step, mud flap brackets, rear crossmember, and seat boxes lids were all either repainted or replaced. Here at Car Cave, we regularly drive our inventory and clock an average several hundred test miles on each Defender. Well sorted mechanically and has been taken care of by the previous owner.

Eastnor Edition Land Rovers were all factory built Yellow. The front "A-bar" bull with long-range headlights were features standard on the Eastnor and still present on the model shown. Factory standard features included the 16" "Freestyle" alloy wheels, 275/75R16 tires, four mud flaps, black fender flares, a spare wheel carrier, four point roll cage, and reinforcement plates on the front wings. All of the Eastnor model delivered had a removable fiberglass top, side steps, rear step, rear cargo load space with rubber mat, and only available in a two or three seat configuration although these items have now been updated, removed, or changed. Land Rover dealers were selling these new for 129,187 Francs in 1996.
