This 1986 Porsche 944 Turbo is a properly maintained and enthusiast-owned example of Porsche’s iconic transaxle turbocharged platform—now sporting a striking Brumos Racing–inspired livery that pays tribute to one of the most legendary names in American motorsport. Finished from the factory in Guards Red over Black Leather, the car now wears a full white wrap with red and blue stripes, roundel “59” graphics, and period-correct motorsport decals in homage to the famed Brumos IMSA racers. The wheels have also been painted white in a finish that could be easily removed, if desired.
With 129,000 miles, a comprehensive service history, and a clean CARFAX showing no accidents or damage, this 944 Turbo has been kept in excellent mechanical condition. Recent maintenance includes a timing belt service, brake and clutch work, engine mounts, and transmission flush—all performed by specialists at South Shore Autoworks in Massachusetts. The car was sold new on September 29, 1986 and spent most of its life in Georgia before moving north in 2017. While up north, it was kept indoors and well-maintained as part of a large enthusiast collection.
Power comes from a turbocharged 2.5L inline-four producing 217 horsepower, paired with a 5-speed manual transmission. Additional factory options include cassette stereo, 16” forged alloy wheels, power windows, power steering, fog lights, and 4 piston disc brakes. This Porsche also includes an ordered-from-factory touring package, which was a $1801 option from new.
